Please sign our petition urging Governor Granholm to endorse a policy of no increased pollution from existing industrial dischargers.

Petition Text:

Dear Governor Granholm,

Although BP pledged not to increase its pollution into Lake Michigan, the fight to save the Great Lakes isn’t over. BP’s permit remains on the books, and pollution increases are pending elsewhere in the region. With years of progress in cleaning up industrial pollution, and with so many other threats, from sewage overflows to invasive species, this trend of increasing industrial pollution is the LAST thing our Lakes needs.

For the sake of our waters, and our children who will inherit them, we must move beyond industrial pollution and begin to fix the other problems the Great Lakes face. I urge you to prevent future BP fiascos by endorsing a policy of no increased pollution from existing industrial dischargers into state waters.
